1801 - The electoral tie between Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr is broken by the House of Representatives as they
chose  Jefferson to be the third United States president.
1841 - The first continuous filibuster in the United States Senate begins and lasts until March 11th.
1861 - Jefferson Davis is inaugurated as the President of the Confederate States of America.
