Mark Metcalf is Now 64
Mark Metcalf actually auditioned for the part of Otter. But it was when they wanted him to be Neidermeyer that he lied about knowing how to ride horses. After getting the role, he immediately signed up for equestrian courses. Mark Metcalf was the one who took method acting seriously, having changed his hotel room to the one above Bruce McGill’s, where they partied every night, so his anger would help him get into character.

You probably remember Metcalf from his recurring roles as “The Maestro” on Seinfeld and “The Master” on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). Metcalf has been somewhat typecast to play the roles of villains or the plot’s antagonist. He also played in 2009 the role of Mayor Johnson on an episode in the third season of Mad Men called “Souvenir.”
