Comparing Prices
As we previously mentioned, it cost a lot of money to create this iconic movie. By the end of production, the movie was more expensive than the actual ship. Of course, you have to calculate inflation if were talking about the prices in 1912. After adjusting inflation to the dollar in 1997, it cost about $150 million to construct the R.M.S. Titanic.
This was only about three-quarters of what it cost to make the $200 million movie. Wow, when you think about it from this perspective, you can really understand the effort that went into the movie. Bringing real magic to a movie doesn’t come cheap. With an incredible cast, beautiful scenery, and box office success, it was worth the millions.
