Breaking a Tooth
While filming the famous fight scene with his character’s lawyer, Richard Gere broke a tooth when the fight got a little too real. The scene showed Edward’s lawyer, Stuckey, trying to assault Vivian when Edward walks in. Rushing to his lady’s aid, the fight ends with Stuckey being fired and thrown out of the room. Good riddance!

That scene was quite intense, though, and Richard broke the crown on one of his molars. He tries to cover it up in the movie, but if you look closely, you can see him making weird movements with his mouth. Perhaps there was some actual resentment between the two actors? We will never know. But one thing’s for sure: the scene ended up looking very realistic, which is a plus for the film itself.
