The Original Original
‘Star Trek’ might never have been called Star Trek. The original series was initially marketed as “Wagon Train to the Stars.” Why? Because the creators were thinking of naming it after the popular 1957 western film ‘Wagon Train.’
Speaking of originals, ‘Star Trek: TOS’ aired from September 8, 1966, to September 2, 1969. The show was the creator Gene Roddenbery’s way to comment on contemporary issues through the guise of science fiction.
