Patch Adams is a classic comedy film directed by Tom Shadyac and released in 1998. It stars Robin Williams as Dr. Hunter ‘Patch’ Adams and is based on a book written by the real Dr. Adams. Adams takes the old adage ‘Laughter is the best medicine’ very seriously, working as both a physician and a clown to try and bring joy into the lives of people who don’t have too many reasons to smile. The real Dr. Adams is still alive and has brought a lot of happiness into the world. The movie did the same. Despite receiving a mixed response from critics, Patch Adams was a big box office success, earning over $200 million.

Some sporting theme in the next film…
