23. Low Budget Baseball – Moneyball
Moneyball is a 2011 sports movie that is also based on true events. This film was inspired by the book of the same name, released in 2003 and written by Michael Lewis. It tells the story of baseball team manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) and his assistant manager Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) who have to try and assemble a successful squad with a very limited budget. The film was critically well-received and is known for being very faithful to the true story. It made over $110 million and was nominated for six Academy Awards.
