Bruce McGill and Landis staged a scene for reporters that were visiting the set. Landis pretended to be angry at McGill for being difficult on the set, to which Landis grabbed a pitcher and smashed it over McGill’s head. McGill fell to the ground, pretending to be unconscious. The reporters were completely taken aback and believed everything. Then when Landis asked McGill to get up from the floor, he refused to move.

After this movie, McGill went on to star in many films. His long acting career includes the films ‘Wildcats,’ ‘The Last Boy Scout,’ ‘My Cousin Vinny,’ ‘Cliffhanger,’ ‘Timecop,’ ‘The Legend of Bagger Vance,’ ‘The Sum of All Fears,’ and many others. McGill has stated before that his favorite roles to date have been National Lampoon’s ‘Animal House’ and The Legend of Bagger Vance.’ His latest films are ‘Poms’ and ‘The Best of Enemies.’
