Reconstructing the Titanic
As you may already know, White Star Line is the company that built the original Titanic. James Cameron actually called up the British shipping company and asked them to manufacture a replica of the original ship. When he wanted to be historically correct, he wasn’t messing around (even though the star configuration was wrong, as Tyson pointed out).

Since the same company that produced the actual ship in 1912 was building the replica, this is as historically accurate as it can get. The new one was built off the coast of Mexico and was almost as large as the real Titanic was. In addition to recreating the ship, White Star Line also restored the Titanic’s original décor and furniture.
