Casting Jack
We know Matthew McConaughey was a strong contender for the part of Jack Dawson, but other popular actors auditioned for the role. Some of these famous faces were Jonny Depp and comedian, Paul Rudd. I can’t see it. Although they are all gifted performers, the movie wouldn’t have been the same with anyone other than Leo DiCaprio played Jack.

Paul Rudd actually had a special interest in the part thanks to his father, who was fascinated by the history of the Titanic. Supposedly, during his audition, Rudd listed off some fun facts about the Titanic because he knew so much about the story. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win over the casting directors. Luckily, he didn’t need that role to become the successful actor that he is.
