James Cameron is obviously a talented director but, he is notoriously stubborn and, at times, very difficult to work with. Although he bumped heads with many people, there was one cast member, in particular, that managed to stay on his good side. The beloved actress that charmed Cameron was Gloria Stuart, the woman who played present-day Rose.

Cameron got along so well with Gloria that he even had a nickname for the actress. He would call Gloria, “Herr Director.” This was a gesture to her German standards of work ethic and precision. Clearly, he didn’t show any favoritism. Just kidding, but who could blame him? I mean, everyone loves the adorable 86-year-old woman who played the elderly version of Rose’s character.
