Titanic – Behind the Scenes of the Classic Romantic Movie Based on a True Story

Perfect Timing

Part of the reason Titanic is such an iconic movie is because James Cameron directed it. His intention was to really connect to the audience and to the true story as much as he could. That’s why he made sure that the entire movie (besides for credits and present-day scenes) lasted exactly two hours and forty minutes.

That’s the exact amount of time that it took for the Titanic to sink in 1912. Wow! That’s a long time! Can you imagine how scary it must have been waiting for that boat to sink? Another little Easter egg is that the collision with the iceberg lasted exactly 37 seconds in the movie, just like it did on that fateful night.
