Sandstorm of Epic Proportions
This photo was taken on November 25, 2018. It captures the sandstorm that hit the city of Zhangye in China’s Gansu province. The sand created a 100-meter high wall.
The winds were above 60 km per hour and engulfed a city of 1.2 million people. Within five minutes, the visibility was reduced to less than 10 meters. Moments like these aren’t always caught on camera. But there are sometimes really brave photographers that know that catching a moment like this can last for all of history.
