The Year the Colosseum in Rome Was Unveiled…

In 80 A.D., the Colosseum in Rome, Italy was unveiled. This was the same time that the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles were written in the Bible. Luke is the longest of the four gospels and the longest book in the New Testament. The date of its completion was between 80–110 AD.

Meanwhile the Colosseum, or the Flavian Amphitheatre, was completed in 80AD. It’s the largest amphitheater ever built, seating between 50,000 and 80,000 viewers. It was used for gladiator contests and public spectacles.
