Arguably the most iconic Hollywood couple of all time, Humphrey Bogart and Laurel Bacall met on the set of the 1944 film “To Have and Have Not”. The couple married on May 21, 1945, and made some classic films together – Key Largo, Dark Passage, and The Big Sleep. They were, without doubt, the most talked about couple in the 1940s – arguably one of the first ever power couples. They had two children together and stayed married until Bogart’s death from cancer in 1957. The “sultry voice actress,” as Bacall was known, was very charitable, receiving recognition of her work from organizations such as Best Buddies and Aid for AIDS before she died in 2014 at the age of 89.
