The Short-Lived Career of Hollywood’s Bad Boy: James Dean

Momma’s Boy

James Dean was born on February 8th, 1931. He didn’t have the best childhood. His mother, Mildred, was diagnosed with cervical cancer and passed away when Dean was just nine years old. His dad, Winton, moved the family to California so that he could become a dentist, and they were living there.

However, after his wife passed away, Winton sent Dean back to their hometown, Indiana. As you can imagine, losing his mother was really tough on young Dean. When he was in fourth grade, Dean was sitting in class one day when he suddenly burst into tears because of how much he missed his mom. Just picturing, it breaks my heart.
