There Was No Denying the Connection
Even though they were very young when they first met, they felt an undeniable connection. They even felt the connection at one of their first school dances, and Niemi mentions it during an interview. She said, “We walked out on stage. I looked in his eyes; it was like everything came alive.” She wasn’t the only one with butterflies in her stomach, and Swayze spoke about it in an interview with People magazine in 2007.

He commented, “I knew she was the smartest chick I’d ever met in my life. [Before Lisa], I had been meeting girls with names like Mimi and Angel.” I guess he needed to meet these women for his life to fall into place. Even though you could see the amazing connection they had, it took Swayze a while to win her over.
