The Latest Tarzan Movie

The Legend of Tarzan came out in 2016 and is the latest adaptation. It was directed by David Yates and starred Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan, Margot Robbie as Jane, and boasts other major actors, like Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, Jim Broadbent, and Christoph Waltz. The story follows Tarzan, who, after moving to London, is convinced by George Washington Williams to go back to his former home in Africa to investigate claims of slavery.

The movie grossed $38,527,856 in the opening weekend and $356 million worldwide, surpassing its original budget of $180 million. It may have made some money, but the money wasn’t so well-received. It got mixed reviews from critics and got a 36% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch.
