The Cast of The Sopranos: Life Before and After

Welcome, fellow Sopranos fans. As you might already know, this year marks the 20th anniversary of HBO’s crime drama ‘The Sopranos.’ And I’m going to use that as an excuse to do a piece on what I consider to be the best drama series I’ve personally ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot. The series premiered on January 10, 1999, and it was created by David Chase, who clearly understood what America wanted to see for one hour every evening. It did win 118 awards and 302 nominations, after all.

‘The Sopranos’ was a perfect example of what the perfect show looks like. It had all the ingredients: riveting drama, excellent acting, stellar scenes, a great storyline, well-made. That said, it’s basically a long time coming that a movie is being made about this family, specifically the man we hate to love – or love to hate: Tony Soprano. Unfortunately, the late great James Gandolfini is no longer with us. But luckily for us, his own son, Michael Gandolfini took the reins.
