Shirley Jones Could Have Been Mrs. Brady
We can’t imagine anyone but Florence Henderson playing Mrs. Carol Brady. She is perfect for the role. She landed many more TV parts thanks to her amazing performance as the Brady mom. That’s why it’s surprising to find out that she wasn’t the first choice. Shirley Jones, an actress and singer at the time, turned down the role of Carol.

Shirley ended up playing another iconic TV mom – Shirley Partridge from The Partridge Family; while her best friend Florence got The Brady Bunch role. It looks like everything turned out the way it was supposed to at the end.
