Lake Ontario is considered one of the biggest lakes in the region and the world, with shorelines in both the United States and Canada. On the US side, New York State resides on its southern and eastern shores. Statistically speaking, it spreads over 7,500 square miles, is 802 feet deep and is the 14th largest lake globally, while being the fifth biggest lake in North America.
