Elvis’s major hit from 1957 was featured in his movie that was also called Jailhouse Rock. The film, which is thought to be one of the best of his 31 movies, is famous for the scene where he performs this song in the in prison.

The single came out before the movie was released, and after the song was recorded, they knew it was going to be a hit, so the movie was named Jailhouse Rock. The single was released in September 1957 and reached #1 on October 21. The film was then released on November 8.
