An Unlimited Budget
The film’s budget was unlimited, and so producers could get as many locations as on their estimated $14,000,000 budget. The majority of the scenes were shot in Los Angeles, in Beverly Hills specifically. The escargot restaurant was filmed at the Rex, which is now called Cicada.

Filming started on July 24, 1989, and it was immediately met with countless problems, like issues of space and time. Although Ferrari and Porsche declined ad placements, Lotus Cars saw the value with such a major feature film. Esprit sales even tripled between 1990 and 1991.
