Julia Roberts Auditioned Twice
A number of actresses auditioned for the role of Vivian before Julia was cast. But, when the film’s producers were changed and wound up at Disney, the big heads were pretty dead-set against having Julia Roberts in the film. At the time, she was a new face, with hardly any credits to her name.

Roberts didn’t have the part in her hands anymore and was forced to audition a second time. The role was offered to other actresses, but each one was either unavailable to shoot the movie or flat-out turned it down. In the end, as all know, Roberts was cast (yet again).
