The Reason Dr. Crusher Left in Season 2 of ‘TNG’
Gates McFadden left ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ in season 2 and came back the next year as though nothing happened. Why? Well, she left because Executive Producer Maurice Hurley was sexually harassing her.

The cast supported McFadden; Patrick Stewart actively worked to get her back on the show while the cast pushed to get Hurley fired. ‘TNG’ was basically reset in season 3. Hurley was let go and replaced with Michael Piller, and so Gates McFadden returned.
