Absolutely, The Godfather is a masterpiece. The Sopranos? I’ve never missed an episode. But if we want to talk about a movie that really leaves a mark, it has to be 1990’s Goodfellas by the one and only legendary filmmaker, Martin Scorsese. 30 years after the gangster film came out, I think it’s high time to take a deeper look into why and how the film was made. And who doesn’t love some inside stories told by actors behind the scenes?

GoodFellas, based on a nonfiction best-seller called “Wiseguy” by crime reporter Nicholas Pileggi happened to restore Scorsese’s place in American cinema (after the literal death threats he received after making The Last Temptation of Christ). According to Ray Liotta, who played Henry Hill, the film defined who he was.
