The Matrix Comics
Before The Matrix, the Wachowskis had to prove themselves as a directing duo. All they had to their name were two unsuccessful scripts, ‘Bound’ and ‘Assassins.’ Apparently, they tried to have their name removed from one of them because it was so bad.
Warner Bros. liked their new script for ‘The Matrix,’ so the Wachowskis asked comic artists to have them turn the script into a shot-by-shot storyboard. In the end, it was the 600-page “proof-of-concept” that gave Warner Bros. the confidence they needed to fund the movie.
