Mommy Dearest
We learned early on that Forrest had a close relationship with his mother. He transmitted much of his wisdom that she taught him throughout his life. But the funny thing is that Sally Field, who played his mother, was close to his age. Sally Field was not that much older than Tom Hanks during the filming of the movie. She was about a decade older than him.

But she managed to play the part incredibly well and made everyone wish their mother was as loving as her.
Random fact about Sally Field: In 1988, she survived a crash in her private airplane with no injuries! The plane lost power during take-off and skidded into some parked airplanes on the tarmac.
