Family Cameos
One of the more heartbreaking moments in the film happened early on when Forrest Gump boarded the school bus for the first time. Remember that scene? It really did pull at my heart strings, that’s for sure. He was denied a seat next to his peers – not once, but twice. Poor thing. But those kids weren’t just any kids from the nearby town. Those kids were child actors, and not just any child actors.

In fact, the two of those child actors who refused to let Forrest sit beside them are children of people involved in the film. The boy on the right is Alexander, the son of director Robert Zemeckis. And the girl? Well, that’s Tom Hanks’s own daughter, Elizabeth.
