5. She Got Her First Big Break in Nashville
She started performing on local radio and television when she was ten and when she moved to Nashville after high school, she started recording with a small music label. Finally at 19, Dolly got her big break on the Porter Wagoner Show.
She said she always wanted to be a star and it just seemed natural to her. Even then, Dolly wore her iconic big hair along with her big personality and she stayed on the show as Wagoner’s sidekick for a while before she successfully went solo.
