Case Closed? New Evidence Revealed on the Disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa

Who is Jimmy Hoffa? Well, we can start by acknowledging the fact that James Riddle Hoffa was an American labor union leader. He served as the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union from 1957 until 1971. He was also notoriously pardoned by President Richard Nixon in 1971 after being criminally investigated. He spent four years in prison for crimes he committed as president of America’s largest union. That’s all on paper; it’s known. But what is less clear is what he did under the table.

Federal investigators found hundreds of millions of dollars stolen from the Teamsters’ largest pension fund. Then two weeks later, he disappeared. Hoffa may just be the most famous disappearance in history. The theories are still coming in as to what happened, the notorious labor leader, and if or how he died. And for anyone who saw the recent flick, The Irishman, they certainly propose a theory.

This is the story of Jimmy Hoffa.

July 30, 1975, 2 P.M.

Minutes after the clock hit 2 p.m. on July 30, 1975, former International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union President James Riddle Hoffa was waiting patiently outside the Machus Red Fox Restaurant in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Why was he waiting there? He was supposed to meet Mafioso Anthony “Tony Jack” Giacalone, from Detroit, and Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano from New Jersey. Allegedly, Hoffa had the aim of mending frayed relations with Tony Pro.

It’s now 2:15 p.m., and Hoffa called his wife Josephine to complain to her about being stood up since the Mafiosos were a no-show. And he hated when people were late, let alone didn’t show up. He then added that he would be home by 4 p.m. to grill some steaks for dinner.
