Today, Starbucks is pretty much on every corner. But back in 1971, the coffee chain was just another place to insert caffeine into the sleepy masses. At that point, Frappuccinos were still 24 years away. And you know they weren’t planning on making any pumpkin spice lattes.

Considering how Starbucks has made 26.23 billion this year and has 27,339 locations around the world, it deserves a nod. Love it or hate it, you can’t argue with the numbers.
