2017: The Wrong Film Announced for Best Picture Winner
I definitely remember watching this one go down live. I think all of us were confused by this one. It’s kind of like the time of Steve Harvey’s epic fail in 2015 at the Miss Universe Pageant when he announced Miss Columbia rather than Miss Philippines as the winner. Anyway, when the final award for Best Picture was being announced at the 2017 Oscars, the mother of all fails happened.

Faye Dunnaway mistakenly announced the film La La Land as the winner, when it was actually Moonlight. Oops! The audience was confused, and the stage started scrambling into chaos. In the most awkward moment of all, during his acceptance speech, La La Land’s producer Horowitz looked at the card that he was holding and realized the huge mistake. He then graciously handed over the award to the cast and crew of Moonlight.
