The ship left Southampton on her maiden voyage to New York on the 10th of April, 1912. It was carrying more than 2,200 passengers and was the most significant streamliner of its time. Five days later, while still in the open seas, the ship hit an iceberg with such force that it ripped open its hull.

A mere two hours later, the Titanic sank, taking nearly 1,500 lives along with it. Those who survived to tell the tale, speak of a horrific incident that changed them forever. However, before the ‘unsinkable’ went down, life aboard the Titanic was seemingly terrific. Getting on-board was the ultimate status quo, and those who made in first-class saw the ultimate extravagance.
