The dying sun, which is causing the earth to freeze, could be the end of humanity unless something is done to mitigate it.

The film failed to perform well at the box office, and the critics’ reviews were mixed in the UK. They were mainly positive in the US. In 2008, it won the Best Technical Achievement award at the British Independent Film Awards. It was also nominated for several other awards.
