Woodstock

August 15, 1969, was one of the most eventful days of the year that changed pop culture and music history forever. A 600-acre dairy farm in the Catskill Mountains in New York became the site of the most defining music event in rock ‘n’ roll history.

While Woodstock’s organizers told town officials that no more than 50,000 people would show up, word spread like wildfire and the audience ended up being closer to 400,000. That’s about 100 times the town of Bethel’s population of about 4200.
