11. Making of the Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, is one of the most iconic buildings in the world but wasn’t always adored. A lot of fellow engineers turned their noses up against the shape of the structure.

The building was named after Gustave Eiffel, the engineer who designed and built it and is made out of wrought iron. It was constructed in 1887-1889 and was initially created to be the entrance to the World Fair in 1889. The actual construction of the tower was photographed yet barely viewed.
