He Treated His Books Like His “Children”
Remember how he invented an imaginary daughter called Chrysanthemum-Pearl? Well, he also considered his books to be his children as well. Audrey Giesel, Dr. Seuss’ first wife, was asked what her husband’s favorite book was.
Audrey replied by saying, “ First of all, he liked each one; he was like a father. He liked all his children, each particular in the time of their conception .” And seeing the collection he created, it’s not surprising that he cared for each one so much!
