A Couple of Firsts

Dr. Seuss published his first cartoon in 1925. It was during his time at Dartmouth, when he published his first cartoon in the humor magazine called “Jack-O-Lantern.” The cartoon featured a character being pied in the face, and it was titled “The Pied Piper.”

His first book was published in 1937. Although he actually wrote his first book in 1931, which had the ABCs of creatures, his first book wasn’t published until later in 1937. This book was titled “ And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.
