The black Givenchy dress that she wore for the 1961 romantic comedy film ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ eventually came to be referred to as “the little black dress.” It was designed by Hubert de Givenchy. The dress is cited as one of the most iconic pieces of clothing in the history of the 20th century. As you have probably guessed by now, the dress was indeed sold at an auction.
