An American named Robert Cabana and Krikalev were the first two astronauts aboard the International Space Station in 1998. He returned to the space station two more times and even did a six-month stay in 2005.
Krikalev spent a total of 803 days in space and was on six different missions by the time he retired as a castronaut. However, he continued to work as a director of manned spaceflight at Russia’s Roscosmos State Corporation.
