In 1977, as both Burt Reynolds and Sally Field were enjoying a lot of success, they were cast in a movie together. That film’s name? Smokey and the Bandit . It was an action comedy movie directed by Hal Needham and was also the start of an extraordinary relationship between its two lead actors.
