“Iron Mike” Tyson, born on June 30th, 1966 in Brooklyn , New York , is a former undisputed
world heavyweight boxing champion.  Tyson was the youngest man to ever capture the
championship when he did so at the age of 20.  Tyson finished his career with 58 fights,
compiling a record of 50 wins (44 by KO), 6 losses, and 2 no contests and is considered one
of the greatest heavyweights of his era.



Tyson has been involved in a number of controversial moments in his adult life.  In 1992,
Tyson was convicted of the rape of Desiree Washington and had to serve three years in
prison.  After being released from prison in 1995, he began a series of comeback fights.  In a
1997 match against Evander Holyfield, Tyson was disqualified for biting off a piece of
Holyfield's ear.  In 2003, Tyson filed for bankruptcy despite having lifetime earnings over
$300 million.
